Some venues are about the act; this one is about the night. The lawn slopes toward the stage with the river and the skyline behind it, and when the sun drops during the opener's set the whole crowd does that collective golden-hour phone-raise that usually annoys me and somehow didn't.
Logistics, because they matter: gates at five, lawn fills by seven for a big headliner, blankets yes, chairs only in the back half. Food trucks are better than they need to be. Parking is the tax — use the shuttle lots and save yourself the postgame hour.
The headliner closed with confetti cannons against the skyline and eleven thousand people singing into the river breeze. $65 lawn ticket. I've paid double for arena shows with a fraction of the memory.
Duration
Gates at 5, done by 11
Price
$45–80 lawn depending on the headliner
Who it suits
Groups; the lawn is a hang, not a seat
